The first Harp Festival in Ireland was held in Granard in 1781 and also in 1782 and 1785. It was then revived in 1981 by parish priest, Canon Gilfillan and the Trustees of the Granard Harp Festival. The festival ran for many years and a harp school was also established to promote the harp and traditional harp music.

This year the festival will be revived, and will run from Friday, August 31st to Sunday, September 2nd. To view the programme and follow events as they are happening, please 'like' our facebook page 'Granard Harp Festival 2018'.
