Written by the author of Lovely Leitrim, Unforgiven and Love Is, Callaghan's Place is a touching, shocking and funny play set in the nearby town of Carrick on Shannon. Paul and Mary Dolan are struggling to come to terms with the departure of their daughter Frances to university when a mysterious Englishman arrives in their midst and his friendship with Frances creates a backdrop to tragedy. Can neighbours Pat Kelly and Annie Jackson stem the tide of Paul's suspicions and anger? For all its serious undertones Callaghan's Place is peppered with scenes of outrageous humour.
