Young Citizens Award

A young citizen award was designed to recognise the achievements of young people participating and contributing to their local communities.  The young people were nominated by teachers and youth workers from schools and clubs across the county.  Nine young people were selected by a steering group of young people nominated by the youth council.  The young people nominated are willingly involved in activities that support others and make a difference to how other people see themselves and their communities.  An awards ceremony was held on the 24th of January to recognise the achievements of these young people.  Certificates and vouchers were presented by Mayor Peggy Nolan and County Manager Tim Caffrey.
