Backstage Theater was established in 1995 to nurture, enrich, present and develop the artistic and cultural expression and appreciation of the people of Longford. The purpose built theater comprises a 212 seater auditorium and Atrium Gallery. Ever since its humble beginnings the Backstage continues to offer its audience a diverse selection of drama, dance, classical music and opera of the highest standard from around the world. Truly a must see.

Bog Lane Theatre

Mostrim Rd, Ballymahon, Co. Longford

The Bog Lane Theatre opened in October 1988. The property is owned by the local dramatic society, the Bog Lane Theatre Company. The Bog Lane Theatre Company performs two plays annually. It also hosts the One Act Festival every November. It also hosts visiting drama groups and the Local Choral Society. The Bog Lane Theatre is the lecture venue for the Goldsmith Summer School, and frequently hosts art exhibitions.
