St Mel’s Brewery began life in 2013 when Liam Hanlon and Eoin Tynan decided to launch a craft brewery in Longford. Since then they have been producing quality craft beers which include IPA’s, Stouts, Red and Brown Ales along with the occasional seasonal offering. In 2015, they were awarded the Silver medal for their Brown Ale at the Killarney Beerfest. June 2016 saw them awarded a Gold medal for their Springbock Lager at the same festival, a well deserved accolade.
St Mel’s beers are now available over a wide geographical area through multiple outlet supermarkets, off-licences and, of course, pubs and clubs.
Using only the highest quality ingredients, sourced mainly from Ireland, there are no chemicals used in the production of their beers.
Their success means they will be looking to expand their production facilities in the near future. Eamonn Tynan, Brand Ambassador for St Mel’s, has stated “We’ll sell it nationally and keep it local!”
