What's On Guide: July 2025

With schools out for summer, there is plenty happening for families around County Longford this July, including summer camps, Longford Agricultural Show and Ballinamuck Olde Fair Day, and events at your local library. You can also join the crowds for the ever-popular OSNS Car Show and the Two Provinces Triathlon. 

Coral Leisure Summer Camp 2025

Corla Leisure Summer Camps for kids are taking place from 9am to 3pm on the following dates

  • From Monday, 30 June to Friday, 4 July
  • From Monday, 7 to Friday, 11 July
  • From Monday, 14 to Friday, 18 July

Ballymahon Market

Friday, 4 July: Ballymahon Market brings together a fantastic mix of local traders offering everything from delicious food and handcrafted goods to vintage finds – all with a zero waste and plastic-free ethos. Located in Main Street, Ballymahon, the market aims to support sustainability while supporting local businesses and makers. Come along, support local and enjoy the charm of this community led market.

Longford Agricultural Show

Sunday, 6 July in Enybegs: At one of Ireland's oldest agricultural shows, you'll enjoy live entertainment from 12-7pm, with Patrick Feeney, Jack Keogh, Seamus Farrell and Brid Shaughnessy. Other entertainment includes tug of war, face painting, inflatables, craft displays. There will even be some special appearances on the day. Children are free.

Two Provinces Triathlon

Saturday, 12 July in Lanesborough: Enjoy the buzz at this popular event, with music from live DJs and lots to see! For more information, visit TwoProvincesTriathlon.com. Supported by Waterways Ireland and the local community.

Ballinamuck Olde Fair Day

Saturday, 12 and Sunday, 13 July: There is lots to see and do at this year's old fair day, including a boxty making demo in Johnny’s Cottage from 3-5pm on Saturday, and an Olde Fair Day vintage parade from Gaigue Cross to the ’98 Bar, from 1pm on Sunday. OSNS Car Show

Sunday, 13 July at St Mel's College: A premier car show for car enthusiasts, expect an unforgettable experience showcasing the best and rarest vehicles from around the country.

Music Workshops with Music Generation Longford 

Thursday to Saturday, 17-19 July in Longford Town, Drumlish, Ballymahon, Granard and Edgeworthstown Libraries: Join Music Generation to explore music through movement, rhythm, and dynamics. For further information, LongordLibrary.ie.

Eden Nightclub events

Saturday, 26 from 7-11pm: Join the fun at Eden Nightclub in Longford town with their 30+ Summer Club Night, where you will relive the hits you love! Cheesy bangers, floor fillers and home before midnight.

  • Thursday, 3 July: Biodiversity workshop, part of the Summer Stars Programme, takes place in Ballymahon Library from 11am-12pm
  • Thursday, 3 July: Summer Stars Art and Craft takes place in Edgeworthstown Library from 3pm-3.45pm
  • Thursday, 10 July: Teddy Bears Picnic takes place in Drumlish Library from 11am-12pm
  • Saturday, 12 July: Teddy Bears Picnic with Magi, takes place in Lanesborough Library, 12.30pm-1.30pm
  • Monday, 14 July: Beading workshop with Sarah, takes place in Granard Library from 11am-12pm
  • Wednesday, 23 July: Celebrating Lanesborough’s Literary Links, an evening of readings with Colin Carberry and Jack Harte takes place in Lanesborough Library from 6-8pm
  • Thursday, 24 July: Puppet Show with Jay Ryan takes place in Granard Library from 10.30am-11.30am and in Edgeworthstown Library from 12.30pm-1.30pm
  • Friday, 25 July: a four-week yoga class with Therese Lanigan begins in Ballymahon Library from 11am-12pm and in Lanesborough Library from 12.30pm-1.30pm
