The Dead of Night Halloween Festival – Saturday 25 – Friday 31 October

With over 30 events, free or low-cost taking place, Longford town will transform, featuring local artists, performers, and community groups.

Monday 27 – Thursday 30 October – Haunted House at Connolly Barracks.

Monday 27 – Wednesday 29 October – Halloween HQ in Pig Market Lane.

Thursday 30 October – Andrias de Staic with the Latchicos, evening of storytelling and music for adults.

Longford Fire & Shadows Procession: Morrígan’s Revenge - Friday 31 October

Samhain: Fire and Shadows Procession is a grand spectacle in Longford Town, showcasing local artists, performers, and community groups in a celebration of light and shadow. The procession will start at Connolly Barracks at 7.30pm and finish on the Market Square at 9.30pm culminating in a spectacular fire and music finale.

Féile na Samhna at Corlea Trackway, Longford - Saturday 25 October – Saturday 01 November

Saturday 25th October – 3.00pm - 4.30pm: Gruesome masks, spiders, and pumpkins Craft Workshop. Time to get creepy and creative. For ages 5-12. Craft your perfect Samhain mask, pom spiders and pumpkins decorations.

7pm Solstice Choir - a evening of beautiful traditional Irish music and songs.

Sunday 26th October – 3.00pm: Origins of Samhain: Oweynagat The cave of Uaimh na gCat (Oweynagat) Rathcroghan regarded as being the home of Samhain/Halloween, also referred to as Ireland’s Gate to Hell. This talk will offer a special insight into the ancient festival of Samhain.

5.00pm: Púca: Bog of Bewitchment Experience

Monday 27th October – 1.00pm -2.00pm: Deathly Gruesome Mini-Digs (Ages 2-6). Mini archaeological digs for little explorers. Children accompanied by an adult.

3.00pm-4.30pm: Boohoo Scary Dress Ball & Traditional Halloween Games (Ages 2-6) Spine tingling sounds with the hair-raising DJ Fantastic with traditional Halloween games.

Tuesday 28th October – 2.00pm -3.00pm: The Curious Case of the Body in the Bog (6–12-year-olds) Help world renowned Irish Archaeologist Prof Patrick Bones O’Jones and his assistant Ms Ann Robic identify whose body it is by piecing the clues together.

Wednesday 29th October – 11.00am - 12.30pm: Celtic Tree Spirits and Lore – adults only.  Craft and lore workshop for adults.

2.00pm-4.00pm: Candlelit Tales - Mythical storytelling session with the renowned Irish Seanachaí’s from Candlelit Tales. Incorporates music, stagecraft, and tales of ancient Irish myths – for all ages.

6.00pm: Samhain Dark Spirits Tour (Adults only). Join our guides for the Dark Spirits Tour of Corlea if you dare.

Thursday 30th October Scealta Beo – Potions Workshop. Learn how to make your own magical potions with the crafty sprites from Scealta Beo- suitable for ages 4 to 12.

Saturday 1st November – 5.00pm: Batwalk with Aine Fenor. Led by Aine Fenor, try to identify bat species, discuss their habitats, and use bat detectors to listen to their echolocation calls.

7pm: Solstice Choir- a evening of beautiful traditional Irish music and songs

30+ Halloween Club Night – Eden Night Club – Saturday 25 October

Sunday 26 October – Sunday 2 November - Evolution Stage School Longford - Shows start on different days at 1pm, 7pm and 7.30pm.
